Today I had the pleasure of photographing the Kinetic Sculpture Race in Baltimore. My friend and mentor Kaitlin invited me to go shooting with her, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I’m glad I went because it was a great experience and I always love seeing the way art brings strangers together. Smiles all around!
The one Kinetic Sculpture that stood out to me the most was Fifi. I loved this piece and couldn’t get enough of it. Apparently, Fifi is usually pink!
Stay golden you beautiful creature. Smiles all around!
All of these sculptures were participating in a bicycle race! Everyone always asks, “Where’s Waldo?” but never, “How’s Waldo?”
As the day went on, there was a mud pit that every single contestant had to ride through. Sounds easy, but, it was so hard that it made me tired just watching the participants. This kid got a face full of mud and couldn’t be happier! More power to ya buddy!
The crew spent hours getting the mud pit ready, and I think they did a fantastic job! Look at this gator go!
Smiles all around! It looked like everyone was having so much fun! I know I did!
Luckily, there were volunteers there to hose off the bikes and their drivers. I’m surprised that I didn’t get a face full of mud! Well, that’s all for now. I hope some of you got to make it out to the race and to see the wonderful sculptures! Stay tuned I’ll have a new post up soon.
